Raboso del Piave is the flagship wine of the appellation of the same name. The Consortium for the Protection of Piave Wines, which represents the local producers, was founded back in 1959, making it one of the oldest such consortia in Italy. The consolidation and co-ordination of all of the immense energies in this part of Italy go hand-in-hand with the evolution of the local viticultural operations and the local wines, successfully combining tradition and innovation.
Over the decades, along with Raboso, other time-honoured local wines have established a reputation for quality, including Verduzzo Trevigiano, Manzoni Bianco and Tai. Other varieties, although not native to this part of the world, have become perfectly accustomed to the soil here and now produce excellent quality wines, such as Carmenère, Pinot Grigio and Merlot.
